The Iconic Hollywood Boulevard

Check out these one-of-a-kind attractions that have made Hollywood a destination of the masses for decades:

Hollywood Boulevard
Hollywood Boulevard is one of the most well known streets in the country. Along the sidewalk of the boulevard is the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which are stars commemorating achievement in the entertainment industry. Hollywood Boulevard is also home to the Dolby Theatre, the Hollywood Sign, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Hollywood & Highland Center, Capitol Records Tower and so much more. Walk where Old Hollywood mingles with today's stars.

Grauman's Chinese Theatre
Are your feet the same size as dancer Gene Kelly's were? Finally get the chance to hold the hand(print) of George Clooney. Size up your foot and handprints to those in the theatre's Forecourt of the Stars. Over 200 celebrity prints have been pressed into the grounds in front of the Theatre. VIP Tours are offered daily for more insight into the famous.

Hollywood Sign
What is one surefire way to know you are in Hollywood? Look in the direction of the famous "Hollywood" signage. Although there is no direct access, seeing it from afar makes you realize that you are really somewhere special. Imitated - but never duplicated, the 45-foot tall lettering was originally a large ad for a housing development during the 1920's. The sign is not lit at night, so for the best viewing, look north from the gates of the cemetery adjacent to Paramount Studios during the daytime.

Hollywood Walk of Fame
Locate your favorite celebrity on the Walk of Fame, which runs along Hollywood Boulevard from La Brea Avenue to Gower Street, and on Vine Street from Sunset Boulevard to Yucca Street. Pink terrazzo and brass stars are rooted in the sidewalk, and honor stars with achievements in television, drama, film and radio. Established in 1958, the walk now has more than 2,500 stars embedded into the sidewalk.

Hollywood & Highland Center
This massive entertainment and shopping complex at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue houses many of the cultural icons that we associate with Tinseltown. In addition to shopping, dining and nightlife, the center is home to the Dolby Theatre (formerly the Kodak Theatre)- where the Oscars are held, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, television broadcast facilities and more.

Hollywood Bowl
With distant views of the Hollywood sign, Hollywood Bowl is the largest outdoor amphitheater in the country. The "bowl" refers to the shape of the concave hillside upon which the amphitheater is carved. In addition to hosting the Los Angeles Philharmonic each summer, the Bowl has featured many world renowned entertainers.

Universal Studios Hollywood
Universal Studios Hollywood, one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood movie studios, is still in use today as both a studio lot and theme park. The park was initially created to showcase the soundstages and sets of Universal Studios, but has since morphed into a full-fledged amusement experience featuring shopping, dining, shows, rides and exhibits.
